Etymologically crisis is a Greek word, and it means to separate, to decide or to choose between two opposing choices.Following this understanding we would realize that crisis is a major part of management - in fact, we may conclude that crisis is the reason for management. The reality that crisis is a part of management is even more conspicuous in schools. The average school manager for example has been found to make about 1500 decisions per day!Hence, the need for crisis communication in school management. From my research and experience, I have seen that crisis communication is a major challenge for school managers and administrators, and in trying to overcome this challenge most school managers and administrators make the mistake of 'not communicating ' during a crisis.
